The Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) provides leadership for all environmental health and safety matters at the University. Harmonizes environmental, health, and safety program objectives with the strategic aims of the University. Articulates a vision for continuous improvement of University environmental health and safety programs, safety culture, and accident/injury experience. Interacts with regulatory agencies on behalf of the University with respect to environmental, health, and safety regulatory matters.

Leads, guides, and directs the implementation of the University's environmental, health, and safety programs. Develops strategic partnerships with senior leadership, faculty, staff, students, the research community, and other constituencies to ensure the safety and regulatory compliance of the University's education, research, and clinical missions.

The duties include, but are not limited to:

• Facilitate safe and compliant conduct of education, research, and at the University.
• Articulate and champion a strategic vision for continuous improvement of university environmental health and safety programs, safety culture, and accident injury experience.
• Harmonize environmental, health, and safety programs with the strategic aims of the University.
• Lead, guide, and direct the University's environmental, health, and safety programs.
• Recognize emerging safety issues and regulatory challenges and work to proactively and seamlessly prepare the University to address them.
