Pit Loader

We are hiring an experienced Pit Loader for our Columbus Quarry plant in Fortson, GA. This position will operate an off-roadWA
800 or WA600 loader to load Company haul trucks with short rock tosend to Primary Plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reporton all unsafe conditions and actions to Management and/or Safety Manager immediately.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and meet other housekeepingneeds as required by the Company, MSHA and other regulatory agencies.
• Operate Pit Loader and other heavy equipment to lift and transportraw material to company haul trucks, maintain level floor, and maintain safe loadout face.
• Expeditiously and safely load out trucks.
• Maintain daily cleanliness of heavy equipment being operated.
• Perform daily pre-shifts on the loader and complete the pre-shiftforms, notify management immediately of any unsafe conditions.
• Coordinate with management on inventories and demand.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental andcompany goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need:

• Previous experience operating a Pit Loader, Excavator, other heavy equipment in a quarry/mining environment is REQUIRED
  .
• Previous experience in grading/excavating that requires loading oftrucks with material like dirt, sand and small stone;
  Forestryindustry loader experience or heavy highway (loading earth/loadingroad millings on trucks) will be considered in lieu of the Pit Loader requirement.
• Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy mining/construction equipment.
• Prefer 2 years of heavy equipment experience.
• Willing to work overtime and extended hours/weekends, depending oncompany needs. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
