Join our manufacturing team as a Production Control Coordinator, where you’ll help plan, schedule, and monitor production activities to keep work moving safely, efficiently, and on time.
Supervisory responsibilities: Assist with setting and overseeing work assignments, schedules, and work quality for the manufacturing team.
Essential Functions / Primary Duties- Coordinate daily production activities with the Production Supervisor to address constraints or setbacks and support on‑time completion.
- Track work‑in‑progress (WIP), update schedules, and communicate changes in priorities to production teams.
- Review and update production plans daily to align with operational capacity and customer requirements.
- Identify, acquire, and help ensure the availability of materials, components, and supplies needed to meet production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with supply chain/purchasing as needed to prevent shortages and reduce downtime.
- Draft, develop, and implement cost‑effective manufacturing methods and procedures in accordance with established standards.
- Attend daily/weekly production meetings; provide constructive feedback and assist with expediting urgent orders.
- Review product specifications, engineering drawings, sales orders, and other project documents to understand product requirements and sequencing.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally (Quality, Maintenance, Shipping/Receiving, Sales) to troubleshoot issues and remove barriers to production.
- Coordinate with Maintenance regarding mold/cart repairs or other equipment needs to ensure timely completion and minimize customer disruption.
- Support workforce efficiency by helping uphold safety standards, enforcing policies, and promoting a quality‑focused culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Working knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOM), production scheduling, and quality standards.
- Solid understanding of supply chain processes and capacity management.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook (required).
- Above‑average interpersonal skills; able to work independently with minimal supervision and partner effectively with employees at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong math and analytical skills; comfortable using data to support decisions.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field preferred. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production control environment.
Hands‑on, non‑desk role requiring 80% or more time on the shop floor.
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
