RELIABILITY ENGINEER - MANUFACTURING | KNOXVILLE
Reliability Engineer – Manufacturing | Knoxville, TN
Our client, a growing manufacturer in the plastics sector, is seeking a hands‑on Reliability Engineer to lead and build the reliability program at their Knoxville–area facility. This is a high‑impact position where you’ll work directly on the plant floor to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and drive long‑term operational results.

What You’ll Do- Lead and develop the plant’s reliability program to support safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Partner with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and maintainability.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) initiatives and implement long‑term corrective actions.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve predictive maintenance (PdM) strategies.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve condition monitoring and non‑destructive testing methods.
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement solutions that improve operating costs.
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement solutions that improve safety and regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical support during routine and critical equipment issues.
- Develop and deliver training programs to strengthen maintenance team capabilities.
- Support reliability improvements across utilities and facilities, controls and safety systems.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or manufacturing equipment support.
- Strong experience with root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
- Comfortable working directly on the plant floor.
- Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Technician, or Manager.
- Experience in plastics or continuous manufacturing environments.
- $85,000 – $95,000 base salary (commensurate with experience).
