Reliability Engineer – Manufacturing | Knoxville, TN
Our client, a growing manufacturer in the plastics sector, is seeking a hands‑on Reliability Engineer to lead and build the reliability program at their Knoxville–area facility. This is a high‑impact position where you’ll work directly on the plant floor to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and drive long‑term operational results.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and develop the plant’s reliability program to support safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and maintainability.
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) initiatives and implement long‑term corrective actions.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve predictive maintenance (PdM) strategies.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve condition monitoring and non‑destructive testing methods.
  • Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement solutions that improve operating costs.
  • Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement solutions that improve safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical support during routine and critical equipment issues.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to strengthen maintenance team capabilities.
  • Support reliability improvements across utilities and facilities, controls and safety systems.
What You Bring (Must–Haves)
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, or manufacturing equipment support.
  • Strong experience with root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Hands‑on troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable working directly on the plant floor.
  • Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Nice to Have
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Technician, or Manager.
  • Experience in plastics or continuous manufacturing environments.
  • $85,000 – $95,000 base salary (commensurate with experience).
  • Relocation assistance provided for qualified candidates.
