Job SummaryResponsible for the procurement of parts and materials, supplies and equipment for production and maintaining stock inventory. Completes and maintains related purchase orders and reports, performs expedite and de‑expedite activities as required to maintain production schedule and promote positive cash flow. Monitors inventory levels and coordinates with departments to ensure that operations are smooth and uninterrupted. Locates, compares, negotiates part deliveries and prices with suppliers.
Monitors and follows applicable laws and regulations, as well as Panelmatic code of conduct requirements.
- Purchase the highest quality material at the lowest possible price and in the correct amounts.
- Develop and ensure all elements of the purchase commitment are completed with proper required approvals.
- Review requisitions for accuracy and completeness, prepare and process assigned purchase orders.
- Monitor ideal inventory levels; reorders and purchases items needed for inventory replenishment to ensure on‑time delivery while maximizing turns and minimizing carrying cost.
- Review order acknowledgments for item, cost and delivery date accuracy and update the system, as well as notifying PMs and/or manufacturing of updates as necessary.
- Expedite (or de‑expedite) the delivery of purchases as necessary.
- Monitor shipments to ensure that materials come in on time, and in the event of problems will trace shipments and follow up on undelivered material.
- Confer with staff, users and suppliers to discuss defective or unacceptable goods/services and determine corrective action.
- Source and provide material costs and availability to estimating, sales and engineering teams for potential new business opportunities and/or change orders.
- Provide recommendations regarding materials to other functional groups to drive toward cost savings and/or improved product availability.
- Develop and maintain rapport, trust, and constructive and cooperative working relationships with suppliers and Panelmatic teammates.
- Perform day‑to‑day administrative tasks such as compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, auditing or verifying information or data, and maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Assist in annual physical inventory activities and/or cycle counting as required.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or similar
- CPIM certification
- Experience with Syteline
- Expertise with MS Excel and MS Project
- Experience with custom manufacturing
