This position is accountable in conjunction with the rest of the Augusta team, for the results of the Augusta wastewater, shipping, and plant general operation. Contribution to these results will be accomplished through overseeing the daily maintenance and production activities of the wastewater, shipping and plant general area. This position is responsible for the safety, environmental, quality, cost and production goals for their areas.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor the operation of furnaces, boilers, water softeners, solids conveying equipment, product filters and strainers, air compressors, batch scales, reactors, tanks, and heat exchangers.
  • Perform various process operations involving liquid products, compressed air, water, and steam distribution systems involving valves, pumps, pipelines, and tanks.
  • Measure and record process data such as temperatures, pressures, flows, tank levels, product analytical data, time, date, etc.
  • Ensure quality of all finished products meet targets and specifications.
  • Perform electronic transactions on desktop PCs.
  • Collect process samples and perform analytical tests.
  • Process shipping documents, certificates of analysis, bills of lading, etc.
  • Review analytical data of incoming raw materials.
  • Assist carrier in loading tank trucks with liquid products.
  • Load railcars with liquid and dry products.
  • Unload raw material hopper cars.
  • Operate industrial mobile equipment such as fork trucks and loaders.
  • Communicate with carrier, customers, and plant management as needed during off-hours.
  • Implement all plant health, environmental, safety, and security procedures such as emergency response, safe work procedures, spill response, accident/incident reporting and wear all required PPE.
  • Monitor safety performance of plant and non-plant personnel and correct deficiencies as appropriate.
  • adjust production schedules to meet sales orders.
  • Perform routine adjustment and minor maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Perform emergency repairs to equipment during off hours and weekends as needed.
  • Maintain housekeeping of plant at expected levels.
  • Maintain physical and cyber security protocols.
  • Provide shift relief as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or completed GED.
  • Process Technology Degree OR minimum of 2 years relevant work experience (e.g. production, packaging, loading, or maintenance) in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in math, reading comprehension, and mechanical reasoning with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift; weekends; holidays; overtime; and respond to callouts.
  • Ability and willingness to serve as member of Emergency Response Team.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must possess valid driver's license.
  • Physical requirements - Must be able to lift 55 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
