About the Role
The position of Welder represents the final step in the actual fabrication process. This role involves production welding of various gauges and metals to produce parts per drawings and Simpson specifications.
Responsibilities- Set up the welding machine, gather work, read prints, stage work, and weld parts (80%).
- Comprehend and apply written and/or verbal instructions.
- Produce quality parts in a safe manner.
- Communicate with coworkers and leadership.
- Operate other production machinery with training as directed.
- Use manual and powered hand tools (5%).
- Place finished product on pallet racking and apply labels as needed (5%).
- Read tape measure to 1/32 inch tolerance and use protractor to measure angles (5%).
- Keep area clean (5%).
- 1-year certificate from college or technical school (preferred).
- PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification – will certify at hire (required).
- Minimum 1-year related manufacturing experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and training in a production welding environment (required).
- Safety: consistently exemplify high safety standards and monitor others.
- Attendance: demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance.
- Mathematical reasoning: basic algebraic and geometric concepts; add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals.
- Reading comprehension: read, analyze, interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and related correspondence; write work procedures and instructions.
- Writing: write routine reports, safety bulletins, procedure manuals.
- Technical: working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Simpson computer applications.
- Problem solving: solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Analysis/Reasoning: interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Speaking: effective communication in group settings and one-on-one across all departments.
- Leadership: motivate, coach, mentor team members; prioritize work; champion change; accountability.
- Measurements: read tape measure to 1/32 inch tolerance and use combination squares to measure angles to plus or minus 1 degree.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear; occasionally required to sit.
- Operate large equipment while standing for 8-12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in repetitive motion.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, pull materials up to 50 pounds with proper equipment.
- Risk of exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
This position requires no travel at this time.
Employment Status & LocationFull-time, non-exempt. Located in Fulton, MO.
RelocationRelocation is not available for this position.
Pay$19.62 - $29.42 per hour.
