Utility Person

Job Overview

Martin Marietta is seeking a Utility Person to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This position requires safely and efficiently performing cross‑functional duties in plant maintenance, production, and equipment operation, including greasing, lubricating, and routine maintenance of plant equipment. Hours are 6:00 am – 4:00 pm, including weekends as necessary.

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment, including cutting and welding under guidance.
• Perform daily pre/post‑shift inspections on equipment and maintain maintenance logs.
• Use a hand shovel and operate a skid steer, front end loader, and other tools to clean around plant equipment and maintain roadways and parking areas.
• Operate a water truck to limit airborne dust.
• Participate in plant operations including production, loading and shipping, and quality control.
• Maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility and safe traffic flow throughout the site.
• Operate plant‑specific mobile equipment such as excavators and haul trucks safely as needed.
• Aid in the training of co‑workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Have experience in the building materials industry (preferred).
