Employment Type: Full-Time Team Member

RWDC Science and Innovation team is currently seeking qualified individuals for a QA/QC Lab Technician position. In this role you will join the team of dedicated technicians operating production scale fermenters, bioreactors, and downstream processing equipment. Specific

Duties Include:

  • Quality Control Assays for fermentation process.
  • Quality Control for downstream process.
  • Compute the ideal ratio of ingredients.
  • Conduct analyses of the samples, compile the data and interpret results.
  • Perform routine tests to determine if the product meets certain standards.
  • Identify imperfections using electronics and/or chemical analysis.
  • Interpret results of tests, and generate reports for operations.
  • Successfully complete assigned tasks, including cleaning, sterilizing, and prepping equipment for microbiology/fermentation research and development activities.
  • Provide timely and accurate verbal and written communication to team members.
  • Successful candidates must be flexible to workday and night shifts.

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated knowledge working in a bioprocessing/biotechnology lab, specifically, aseptic technique, media production and proficiency growing microbes.
  • Analyze samples for production processes, using various laboratory equipment: titration equipment, scales, pH meters, spectrophotometers, gram staining methods. Must possess solid problem-solving, interpersonal communication, and team-based skills.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions including, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Must be computer proficient and have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Adaptability, able to successfully juggle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and revise testing procedures as needed.

Education:

Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree with one year’s experience in lab, bioprocessing or related field.
