About this Role

The maintenance technicians are primarily responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment in accordance with manufacturing or site s specifications, and general facility maintenance activities. They are also required to support site electrical activities as needed.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years associate degree in industrial maintenance or similar technical field
  • Minimum 3 years mechanical experience in a chemical manufacturing operation as a pipefitter, machinist, millwright, or similar.
  • Welding skills.
Competencies
  • Professional with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and P&.
  • Must have an understanding of units of measure and weight and perform conversions.
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy and tact when furnishing or obtaining information from both fellow workers and other departments.
  • Experience operating equipment such as forklift, man lift, front-end loader, and other heavy equipment.
  • Experience with a CMMS such as SAP or Facility Dude.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed for business continuity, including callouts on off-shifts and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair process equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems such as pumps, gear reducers, exhaust fans, boilers, compressors, conveyors, packager, and a wide range of facility equipment in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Interface with OEMs and vendors as necessary.
  • Support inventory and management of spare parts.
  • Recommend changes and improvements to existing equipment to improve reliability, accuracy, or to further optimize process.
  • Accurately complete all work performed according to work instructions, including proper documentation. Complete work orders using CMMS (Facility Dude) system.
  • Perform repairs and modifications as directed by Maintenance Manager.
  • Support and participate in training programs.
  • Support site safety programs.
  • Keep the Maintenance Supervisor informed of job status.
  • Support/leads failure analysis process by discussing the causes of equipment failure with other stakeholders.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the shop and at the job site.
  • Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) deemed necessary by ESH, site leadership team, and corporate safety guidelines for each task.
  • Perform assigned preventive and corrective maintenance on plant systems and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned with or without accommodations.
  • Support the PM/PdM program by ensuring a high-quality workmanship.
  • Comply with plant policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate equipment availability with the appropriate personnel.
  • Operate forklift truck, aerial man lift, railcar mover, pay-loader, and pass a company-administered proficiency test.
  • Complete and maintain safety, quality, and ISO documentation and records.
  • Working knowledge of computers and MS Windows operating system is required.
  • Physical requirements:

    sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasional climbing stairs/ladders; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; ability to work in confined spaces; vision requirements including close vision.
  • Familiarity with safety practices and techniques relating to the chemical industry (e.g., LOTO, Elevated Work, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Arc Flash awareness).
