Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking an Industrial Painter to support a government contract based in Kings Bay, Georgia. POSITION SUMMARY

Work will include the following:
Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different indoor and outdoor application. As directed cleans, preserves, and prepares a multitude of surfaces for painting to include but not limited to metal, wood, gypsum, stucco, aluminum, galvanized, and fiberglass surfaces. Job will include preparing surfaces on all types of equipment, cranes, buildings, structures, offices, and machinery using various hand tools such as but not limited to sandblasting equipment, chippers, sanders, grinders, putt knives, and drills.

Job will also include applying surfaces, with brush, roller, spray gun, and other equipment to obtain desirable results of color, coating, film, thickness, coverage, and protection. Must be able to position and operate sandblasting equipment including compressors, receivers, water separators, filters, sandblasting pots, hoses, and blast hoses. May mix colors, oils, and thinners to obtain proper color or consistency. In general, the work of the industrial painter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school education or equivalent.
• Three (3) years journeyman experience in the painting field within the last eight years.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of spray painting and sandblasting equipment, to include all tools common to corrosion control.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in patch and painting techniques for interior painting.
• Must have thorough knowledge of paints, thinner, and lacquers and have good color perception.
• Must be able to read and comprehend mix ratios and minimum surface preparation as required by paint manufacturers.
• Must be able to work with protective coatings to include but not limited to thinners, lacquers, epoxies, cleaners, inorganic zinc coatings, polyamide epoxy coatings, aliphatic polyurethanes, and epoxy mastic coatings.
• Must be able to work at various heights up to 150 feet, including work from mechanical lifting devices.
• Must possess a valid state driver's license.
• Must have and wear hard-toed safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413-0S standards.
• Must agree to be able to wear a close-fitting respirator (requires the absence of facial hair that would interfere with the respirator seal).
• Successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.

• Health & Welfare: $15.42 per hour contributed to benefits (effective 12/01/25).
• 401(k): Company matches up to 6% of employee contributions.
• Paid Time Off: Starts at 2.62 hours per pay period (136 hours annually), with increases based on tenure.
• Holidays: 12 paid holidays.
• Additional Leave: Includes bereavement and leave share programs.

• Shift Differential: Extra $1.75–$2.00/hour depending on shift start time.
• Hazard Pay: $3.00/hour for designated high-risk work areas.
• Lead Pay: Additional $2.25/hour for lead roles (temporary or permanent).
• On-Call Pay: Two hours of overtime pay per day when on call during off-days/holidays.

• Safety Shoes: $175 annual allowance.
• Prescription Safety Glasses: Up to $250 annually (per policy).

• Includes provisions for overtime, safety requirements, and additional contract-based benefits.

Compensation Details: $36.45
