Assistant Director of the Maxwell Theatre for Marketing and Programming

The Assistant Director of the Maxwell Theatre for Marketing and Programming is responsible for leading the planning, development, and execution of marketing, programming, and outreach initiatives for the Maxwell Theatre and Lyceum Series. This position supervises the Patron and Customer Services Coordinator, as well as student employees. This position manages the Theatre’s event calendar and rental operations, contributes to revenue generation, and supports financial stewardship.
The duties include, but are not limited to: developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies for the Maxwell Theatre, increasing visibility, audience engagement, and event attendance through effective marketing initiatives, collaborating with Maxwell Theatre staff, Enrollment and Student Affairs Marketing, and University Communications & Marketing to ensure cohesive messaging and outreach, maximizing social media engagement and strengthening connections between students, student organizations, and Maxwell Theatre programming, leading the development, coordination, and execution of theatre programming and special initiatives, overseeing scheduling and utilization of the Maxwell Theatre, including facility calendar management, event scheduling, and rental operations, tracking, analyzing, and reporting key performance indicators related to attendance, programming effectiveness, student engagement, and operational success, and performing additional responsibilities and special projects in support of the Maxwell Theatre, Enrollment and Student Affairs, and University priorities as assigned.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 years’ experience marketing, and/or programming related positions required. Masters degree from an accredited college or university and 5 years experience in marketing and/or programming related positions preferred. One or more years marketing experience in an arts related organization preferred. Skills knowledge of programming, marketing, data driven decision making, budget tracking, and supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe, and marketing tools. Desirable knowledge in general theater operations.
Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required) Pay Band: B10 Salary: $52,500.00/Annually-$65,600.00/Annually Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position Recruitment Period:
