Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role with telemetry experience, requiring a GA or compact RN license and current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
Responsibilities
• Work in a PCU setting caring for adolescent to geriatric patients
• Patient population includes mixed MS/Tele, intermediate, neuro (small population), respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 with high census and acuity
• Titrating cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring required
• Assignments may include all PCU, all MS/Tele, or a mix based on acuity and staffing
• Uses Epic for charting, Pyxis for medication management, and SBAR for communication
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No call requirements
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed, with blackout dates during spring break (April 4-12)
• No holiday RTO requests permitted unless three major holidays fall within the assignment; then one holiday RTO may be considered
• Travelers are expected to work holidays as assigned based on the length of the contract and number of holidays occurring during the assignment
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Full compliance with onboarding required prior to start; delays may shift start date due to bi-weekly orientation
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Returning travelers must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one full year to be eligible
Requirements
• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Experience with telemetry and titrating cardiac drips required
• Experience using Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR preferred
