American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and an active GA or Compact RN license.

• Telemetry unit in a hospital setting serving an adult to geriatric patient population
• Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
• Patient ratio of 1:4–5 on a 36-room unit with an average daily census of 35
• EMR:
  Epic (required); additional systems include Pyxis and SBAR
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have previously worked at any facility within this health system must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
• RTO is capped at 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them and no holiday RTO can be requested; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work 2 and one holiday RTO request may be reviewed for approval
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

• No alternate shift or scheduling requests are permitted; the posted night shift is firm
• Local candidates are accepted

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic proficiency required
• Cardiac telemetry experience required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath, post MI, and heparin protocols required
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (non-titrating) required
• Skills in IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration required
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) highly preferred
