Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)

Call requirements
:
Call requirements are variable dependent upon staffing. Typically, it is one week day call every week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks.

Location: Atlanta, GA

Travel Nurse Pay: $3,745 at 36H, $5,089.00 at 48H ($56/Hour +$ 1,729 Weekly Stipend)

Local Nurse Pay: $100/Hour

Start Date: 05/28/2024

Type of Hire: 14 Week Contract

General

Purpose:

Assumes responsibility and accountability for the nursing assessment and primary care for a selected population of patients within the CVOR specialty. Performs acts requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills based on principles of cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. Functions under a collaborative practice agreement for delegated medical aspects of care with collaborating physicians. Maintains licensure and certification.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides anticipatory guidance, screening, and health education to patients.
  • Initiates treatment for patients undergoing cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries within the CVOR setting.
  • Performs comprehensive health assessments, including obtaining accurate health history and physical examination.
  • Orders/Performs selected diagnostic tests and procedures as indicated.
  • Interprets clinical findings and develops complete, accurate differential diagnoses/healthcare problems list.
  • Identifies and uses available resources to meet healthcare and health education needs of patients.
  • Plans appropriate care utilizing community resources and acts as a liaison for continuity of care.
  • Prescribes, coordinates, delegates, and evaluates care.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance activities and research projects.
  • Instructs individuals, families, or groups about health or defined health problems.
  • Maintains documentation standards and professionalism in appearance and environment.

  • Daily census: 10
  • Staffing Ratio: Typically 1 to 4, occasionally 1 to 5 depending on patient admissions and discharges.
  • Patient Age Group: Adults-Geriatrics

Experience

Required:

Certified CVOR RNFA with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

Heart transplant, cardiac background, vascular, and thoracic expertise required.

CVOR RNFA, BCLS
