Summary
This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Defense Health Network East, at Martin Army Community Hospital, within the Directorate of Medicine, located at Fort Benning, Georgia. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
MajorDuties
- Provide practical nursing care to patients in the outpatient clinic with a variety of medical conditions.
- Perform tasks such as recording vital signs, ordering labs, tracking patient’s laboratory, radiology orders and referral results to completion.
- Administer prescribed medications with increased independence, ensuring proper patient dosages, routes, and times are followed.
- Educate patients and families about prescribed treatments, reinforcing adherence to the medical plan.
- Document accurate administered medications and patient responses promptly in compliance with facility policies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective management of patient medications.
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. All applicants must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. This position requires a 1‑year probationary period during which the agency evaluates fitness and continued employment. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
