Registered Nurses provide quality nursing services by working with the patient care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients’ care, creating a positive, supportive environment. The Registered Nurse is the frontline representative of the patient care team, often serving as the intermediary between the patient, family, provider(s), and other care team members. This role is expected to participate in performance improvement initiatives;

maintain professional competence; develop others; uphold confidentiality, safety, and professional standards; and support Shared Governance through service on councils or other sponsored activities.

• Monitors, examines, and evaluates patients’ conditions; assists with the care plan and takes appropriate actions to promote patients’ short‑ and long‑term outcomes and well‑being.
• Delivers care plans as outlined, applies independent judgment where appropriate, collaborates and communicates with staff, prioritizes and coordinates daily patient flow and experience, delivers safe and effective care per policies and procedures, and maintains appropriate documentation of assessments, care, education, and incidents.
• Advocates for patients and families: listens to concerns, probes in‑depth to understand needs, responds in a timely manner, serves as an educational resource, communicates necessary information to families and staff, and embraces patient‑ and family‑centered care to maintain satisfaction.
• Seeks opportunities to improve the work environment and processes, contributes ideas that support change implementation, and participates in improvement initiatives aimed at better patient quality outcomes, patient and staff satisfaction, and organizational financial performance.
• Maintains professional licenses and certifications; completes required training; self‑identifies and manages development opportunities; engages in professional organizations; stays current with research literature and best practices; and seeks opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.
• Mentors and precepts other nurses, fosters a positive and supportive work environment, adheres to confidentiality, safety, and professional standards, acts with professionalism and integrity, participates in the peer feedback process, promotes the nursing profession, and aids in recruitment efforts to AU Health.

Other duties as assigned. Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

• Associates Nursing, Bachelors Nursing, or Masters Nursing – Preferred

• BLS‑I – Basic Life Support – Instructor or BLS – Basic Life Support
• RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – RN (Multi‑state Compact)
