Nurse; Intensive Care Unit

About the Position

This position is with Defense Health Agency, Progressive Care Unit located at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, GA. The role serves as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse, utilizing evidence-based practice and systematic critical thinking to guide data gathering, nursing judgement, intervention, and evaluation of the human response to actual and potential health problems.

• Degree: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained). Must attach a copy of transcripts.
• Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory, and passing the National Council Licensure Examination.
• Foreign Degree: A degree from a foreign nursing school requires official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools.
• Exemption: Current federal employees in the 0610 occupational series continuously employed since before September 27, 2017, are exempt. Documentation must be provided.

One or more full years of professional nursing experience is required, including providing nursing care to ICU or emergency room patients, administering medications, and providing patient or staff education. Education cannot substitute for experience.
