Overview
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department’s requirements and standards of practice. In collaboration with medical providers and the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models. The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and supports the organization’s vision, mission, and values to contribute to excellent patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Teach patients/families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and potential side effects, and follow-up measures. Translate complex medical terminology to ensure understanding.
- Educate patients and families about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes. Prepare patients and families for future self-management.
- Apply evidence-based practices and participate in continuous process improvement to meet quality measures and enhance patient care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic treatment plan that supports recovery.
- RN with an Associate or Bachelor Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of ICU experience required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
