American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring Epic proficiency and BLS/ACLS certifications on a night shift schedule.
Details- Hospital-based Cardiac Telemetry unit with 16 beds and an average daily census of 16
- Patient population includes adults to geriatrics presenting with post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
- Procedures and monitoring include telemetry, EKG interpretation, Doppler, and peritoneal dialysis
- Charting via Epic (required) with Pyxis and SBAR communication used on unit
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Six weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
- Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Active RN license — GA or Compact license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, blood product administration, central/PICC line management, and heparin/cardiac drip protocols (no titration)
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above) are highly preferred; charge nurse references are not accepted
- Copies of required certifications needed for consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Navy blue scrubs required
- RTO must be finalized prior to acceptance — no RTO or schedule requests are permitted after offer or upon arrival onsite
- RTO is capped at 7 days per contract, and no RTO may be requested during the first week of assignment
- Spring Break (April 4–12) is an RTO blackout period
- Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work 2 and may request 1 holiday off for approval
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one)
- No alternate shifts or special schedule requests are accepted — the posted night shift is firm
- Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent, per diem, or float pool staff must have been away from all facilities within the system for at least 1 full year before being eligible as a traveler
- Travelers who previously canceled or received a do-not-return designation must complete one assignment outside this health system before reapplying
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- All compliance documents must be submitted by the Tuesday prior to the start date; core items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
