Description:
Please note that the patient ratios are an estimation and not a guarantee. Unit specifics include 29 beds with an ideal patient ratio of 1:4, currently running at 1:5. Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and patient care technicians. Equipment used includes IV pumps, vital signs machines, bladder scan, and vein finder. The documentation system in use is Meditech. Staff is scheduled for 36 hours per week with a floating policy in place.
All staff float to areas of their competencies. Candidates must provide safe, high-quality, and compassionate care. Advanced life support certification is required. The dress code includes royal blue scrubs, with no artificial or gel nails permitted. Vital signs are taken every 4 hours, or more frequently based on patient condition. Blood glucose checks are performed as ordered. Required documentation and assessments are to be completed every shift.
Unit staff work well as a cohesive team. Self-scheduling options are available, and special consideration is given for preferred night shifts.
