Patients are admitted to the Admit Unit via Direct Admission from associated clinics, physicians' offices, prompt cares or other hospitals or via an emergency room admission. Patient population consists of intermediate level (monitoring interventions no more frequent than 1 hour) and medical surgical patients. Such diagnoses included are dysrhythmias, CHF, acute onset stroke or stroke symptoms not requiring TPA or critical care, Acute Coronary Syndrome &/or Myocardial Ischemia, etc.
Fast paced environment with focus on patient throughput while providing patient centered care. Great teamwork dynamic. All patients are on hardwire telemetry and self-monitored by the RN. Ratio / Census: 1:4 Ratio; 12 Beds Unit Systems:

If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major Holidays are listed below:
