Number of beds: 29 Patient ratios: 1:4 ideally, currently running 1:5 Unit staffing description:

Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn vital signs machines, bladder scan, vein finder Documentation system:
Meditech Scheduling requirements: 36 hours per week Floating policy:
All staff float to areas of their competencies Patient experience requirements:
Must provide safe, high-quality, and compassionate care Certifications required: ACLS Dress code:
Royal blue scrubs, no artificial or gel nails Unit guidelines and policies:
Vital signs every 4 hours (may be more frequent based on patient condition), blood glucose checks as ordered, required documentation and assessment every shift

Staff in PCU are very cohesive and work well as a team. Looking for candidates who work well with others. Staff self-schedule and work with candidates, especially if they prefer night shifts three in a row. Hospital culture and managerial support are highly praised.
