We are searching for a Lead Trauma Registered Nurse for a part-time, day shift (7a-7p) position.

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is an American College of Surgeons (ACS) verified Level II Trauma Center, serving as the only Level II Trauma Center in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) and also home to one of the largest burn centers in the United States.

The Trauma Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In partnership with medical providers, the RN recognizes and reacts to emergent situations and assists in surgical site verification. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.

• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
