American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy, high-acuity Emergency Department position requiring prior travel and Epic EMR experience.
Details- Work in a large, high-acuity, non-trauma General Emergency Department
- Treat a patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
- 59-bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day
- 1:4 patient ratio
- Uses Epic EMR (required) and Pyxis medication system
- Facility is Stroke and STEMI Certified
- Evening shift, 3x12 hours (1:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
- Rare floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required, with at least 2-3 completed ER travel contracts preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: SANE, TNCC
- Required Epic EMR experience
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Experience managing psychiatric and behavioral health patients, including acute psychosis and suicidal patients
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Skilled in identifying and reporting neglect or abuse
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including respiratory infections, seizures, head injuries, and mental/behavioral health conditions
- Manage patients with traumatic injuries such as gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- Utilize isolation precautions and PPE as needed
- Apply and manage splints for orthopedic trauma cases
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Maximum 7 days RTO per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
- RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- If one or two major holidays occur during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested
- If three major holidays occur during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Returning travelers who were previously cancelled or given a do-not-return status must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
