American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry unit position requiring 2 years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details- Work in a hospital Telemetry unit
- Patient population ranges from adults to geriatrics with diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 35
- Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code team utilization
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with cardiac drip management (no titration) and heparin protocols
- Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
- IV insulin protocol and insulin drip titration experience preferred
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Provide telemetry-level nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and related conditions
- Manage pre- and post-cardiac catheterization and pre- and post-cardiac surgery patients
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of submission
- RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
- Holiday coverage required for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day, with coverage expectations increasing based on the number of holidays falling within the assignment period
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous Piedmont employees (perm/per diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
