Surgical Registered Nurse - Operating Room

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule:

Shift: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM Call shifts: 4-5 per 4 weeks Weekend rotation is required

Job Description:

The Surgical Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing care in the Operating Room, focusing on orthopedic major joint procedures, general surgery, urology, and minor vascular cases. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of care, collaborating with surgical teams, and ensuring a safe environment for patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assist surgical teams during procedures, ensuring the availability and sterility of instruments and supplies.
• Provide direct patient care preoperatively and postoperatively, including patient assessments and vital signs monitoring.
• Collaborate with surgical techs and other support staff to deliver efficient and safe patient care.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in accordance with the facility's documentation system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Must have experience in orthopedic major joint surgeries, general surgery, open & cystoscopic urology, and minor vascular procedures.
• Ortho skill set is essential; familiarity with advanced equipment such as Stryker Orthopedic Systems and robotic navigation technologies is preferred.
• BLS certification is a plus.
