American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

• Medical Surgical unit with remote telemetry and potential medical surgical diagnoses
• 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33 and a patient ratio of 1:6
• Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems
• Required to work every other weekend unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No call requirements
• Navy blue scrubs required

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
• Prior experience with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced Medical Surgical unit
• Respond to emergencies utilizing rapid response and code teams as needed
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of submission
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested
• If three major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm/per diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were cancelled or given a Do Not Return must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
