American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and Epic proficiency.

• Medical Surgical unit with remote telemetry monitoring capability and potential med/surg diagnoses
• 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33 patients
• Adolescent to geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Facility floating required as needed within scope of practice
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR, Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratio required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including rapid response/code team activation
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Navy blue scrubs required

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and respiratory support
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for emergency situations
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all time off requests finalized prior to start of assignment
• No RTO permitted during orientation week
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested
• If three major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Full compliance required prior to start date to avoid scheduling delays
