American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency.
Details- Work in a large, high-acuity General Emergency Department (Non-Trauma) treating adolescents through geriatric patients
- 59-bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day
- 1:4 patient ratio
- Stroke and STEMI Certified facility
- Uses Epic (required) and Pyxis systems
- Evening shift, 3x12 hours, 13:00-01:00
- Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
- Rare floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
- 14-week assignment length
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS required
- SANE and TNCC certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; at least 2-3 completed ER travel contracts preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Skilled in emergency care of pediatric through geriatric patients including trauma, respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and psychiatric presentations
- Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of conditions including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, respiratory support, and psychiatric crisis intervention
- Perform 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition and interpretation of ABGs as needed
- First-time travelers will not be accepted for this role
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all time-off requests finalized at time of submission
- No RTO permitted during orientation week
- Holiday RTO restrictions apply: no holiday RTO if one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, with limited holiday RTO consideration only if three major holidays occur
- Coverage required for major holidays including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- Full compliance required prior to start date to avoid a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
- Candidates with prior Perm/Per Diem/FCSS employment at Piedmont facilities must be separated for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Returning travelers who were previously unable to complete an assignment must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
