American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-acuity Emergency Department position requiring prior travel nursing experience and Epic proficiency.
Details- Work in a large, busy 59-bed General Emergency Department (Non-Trauma)
- Treat a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
- Facility averages 165-175 patients per day with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Stroke and STEMI Certified facility
- Uses Epic EMR (required) and Pyxis medication system
- Evening shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM
- Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
- Rare floating required, limited to within facility and scope of practice
- 14-week assignment length
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS required
- SANE and TNCC certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required, with at least 2-3 completed ER travel contracts preferred
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skilled in managing pediatric and adult emergency conditions including respiratory infections, seizures, and mental/behavioral health conditions
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
- Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
- Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of conditions including cardiac, neurological, respiratory, psychiatric, and trauma-related presentations
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
- No RTO can be requested during orientation week
- No schedule or shift change requests permitted once assigned
- Blackout dates for RTO include Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period (up to 2 of 3 major holidays if applicable)
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former Piedmont employees (Perm/Per Diem/FCSS) must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Travelers previously unable to return to a facility must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
