American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position on night shift, requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and a GA or Compact RN license.
Details- Hospital-based Telemetry unit setting
- Adult to geriatric patient population with diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on a 36-room unit with an average daily census of 35
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic EMR (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration preferred
- Experience with wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and insulin drip titration preferred
- Experience with pre/post cardiac cath, angiogram, MI, and cardiac surgery care preferred
- Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Holiday coverage required based on assignment period: work one holiday if one falls during the assignment, both if two fall during the assignment, or two of three if three fall during the assignment
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized prior to start
- RTO blackout dates include Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) are highly preferred for consideration
