American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Float Pool position covering MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units, requiring at least 1 year of experience and a GA or Compact RN license.
Details- Float pool position covering MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the hospital
- Patient population includes adults through geriatrics
- Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Patient ratios range from 1:4-5 on PCU and 1:5-6 on MS/MS Tele
- Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools
- Required to float across all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
- Every other weekend shift required, averaging 6 weekends over a 13-week contract
- No on-call requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
- Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response protocols
- Skills in wound care, insulin protocols, and renal failure management
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No previous employment history with Piedmont Health facilities within the past year (perm, per diem, or FCSS staff must be separated for one full year before applying as a traveler)
- Provide direct patient care across multiple telemetry and progressive care units as part of a float pool team
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
- No RTO or schedule changes permitted after offer acceptance or once onsite, and none during orientation week
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day)
- If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, both must be worked with no holiday RTO permitted
- If three major holidays fall during the assignment, two must be worked with the possibility of one holiday RTO request
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Compliance documentation must be completed promptly to avoid delays to the start date
