Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive nursing care to adolescent to geriatric patients within a medical surgical unit. Ensures patient safety, comfort, and optimal recovery by implementing nursing protocols and collaborating with healthcare team members.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans according to unit standards.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient status.
• Document patient care activities accurately in Epic and other electronic systems.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid GA or Compact RN licensure at the time of submission.
• Demonstrate at least 1 year of recent medical surgical nursing experience.
• Hold BLS certification; additional certifications are preferred.
• Exhibit strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work night shifts (3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
• Comply with facility, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
