Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of intermediate-level telemetry experience and a GA or Compact RN license.

Details
  • 12-hour night shift schedule, 3x12 (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
  • PCU setting with patients admitted via direct admission or ER
  • Patient population includes adults to geriatrics with dysrhythmias, CHF, acute stroke symptoms not requiring TPA, ACS, and myocardial ischemia
  • All patients on hardwire telemetry, self-monitored by the RN
  • 1:4 patient ratio on a 12-bed unit
  • Fast-paced environment focused on patient throughput and patient-centered care
  • Uses Epic and Pyxis systems
  • Every other weekend work required unless otherwise specified
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
Requirements
  • Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of intermediate-level/PCU nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care/management, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, medication administration, non-titrated cardiac drip management, and non-invasive airway management
  • Copies of required certifications needed for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care for intermediate-level and medical-surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
  • Work within a fast-paced, team-oriented unit culture
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to starting the assignment
  • No RTO permitted during orientation week
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were cancelled or not approved for return must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
