Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license for a hospital telemetry unit assignment.

Details
  • Hospital telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
  • Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on a 16-room unit
  • Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Works every other weekend unless otherwise specified
  • Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • No on-call requirements
Requirements
  • Active GA or compact RN license required at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skills needed include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, and use of rapid response/code teams
  • Experience with pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, and post-MI care preferred
  • Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred at time of submission
  • Copies of required certifications needed for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care on a busy cardiac telemetry unit, including monitoring, medication management, and emergency response
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO can be requested during orientation week
  • RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
  • Holiday coverage required per facility policy: work 1-2 major holidays as scheduled, or 2 of 3 if three fall within the assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Previous Piedmont perm, PRN, or internal staff must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers previously cancelled or deemed ineligible to return to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
  • No special scheduling requests permitted; shift and schedule as posted are firm
  • Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
