Job SummaryUnder general supervision, the Spray Technician II is responsible for detecting and diagnosing damaged turf, plants, shrubs, trees, etc.; determines and applies treatment as necessary. Calibrates equipment to ensure proper application of treatments, monitors the results of treatment, and assists with the general maintenance and upkeep of the Island landscape. In addition to spray responsibilities, the Spray Technician II will also perform upkeep and maintenance of golf courses, including mowing, pruning, and clearing debris as necessary.
Description- Mixes chemicals for proper applications and applies required treatments to damaged greenery.
- Monitors results of treatments and adjusts dosages applied as needed.
- Applies pesticides with careful regard to the safety of humans, wildlife and environment; adheres to legal requirements and recommendations of manufacturers regarding the application of chemicals
- Calibrates equipment to ensure the proper application of chemicals regarding quantity and effectiveness.
- Maintains accurate records of chemical usage and locations of usage.
- Adjusts treatment applications during inclement weather conditions.
- Responsible for general upkeep and maintenance of golf courses by performing various golf maintenance duties including mowing, pruning, clearing debris, etc
- Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas, including cleanup, disposal, spill containment, etc., in compliance with regulations, responsible for the safe handling of chemicals and assists superintendent with chemical inventory.
- Completes daily reports, regularly communicates activities to superintendent.

- Must be 18 years old or older
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Georgia pesticide license required; out of state license holders must be able to obtain GA License within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum 5 years experience working on golf course or landscape maintenance team, 3 years experience working with pesticides in a golf course or landscaping environment required.
- Georgia pesticide license required; if not already licensed, must take and pass Georgia Pesticide Category 24 Commercial Pesticide License within 120 days of hire.
- Minimum 2 years experience working on golf course or landscape maintenance team, 6 months experience working with pesticides in a golf course or landscaping environment preferred.
- Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- More than 50% of the typical work day will be spent crouching and/or stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping and repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
