Facilities Grounds Manager

The foremost responsibility of a Grounds Manager is to be responsible for managing and performing a variety of tasks to maintain the appearance, safety, and functionality of grounds and landscaping at the facility according to the statement of work and FASCON’s standards. To accomplish that goal, they must manage the assigned staff responsible for the grounds of the facility. They shall prepare works schedules, as well as track employee attendance and report hours worked to FASCON Management.

They shall inspect the facility to determine any unusual or recurring work that needs to be done and maintain a checklist of routine or daily responsibilities for the location assigned to them. They assign workers to specific chores or areas and then inspect the work to ensure it has been done satisfactorily. If disciplinary action is needed, it is required that the Facility Grounds Manager document this via a write-up and then discuss the actions with Human Resources.

Together they will determine if the employee should be counseled about their performance, determine whether additional training is required or, if necessary, request termination of the employee. This position requires the use of hand and power tools, as well as landscaping and mowing equipment, to complete daily assignments efficiently and in compliance with organizational standards. The Grounds Laborer works collaboratively with the grounds maintenance team to ensure a clean, safe, and attractive outdoor environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of experience using mowing and landscaping equipment, including lawnmowers and trimmers.
• Extensive knowledge of hand and power tools required for groundskeeping and related maintenance tasks.
• Basic understanding of landscaping practices, lawn care techniques, and plant maintenance principles.
• Familiarity with minor maintenance and troubleshooting of landscaping equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and prioritize daily responsibilities effectively.
• Industry Certifications.
