This position is full time and located at Augusta University in Augusta, GA. The following information provides a summary of the role as described by the posting.
Job SummaryMaintain a clean and tidy lab environment; assist in cell culture, tissue collection, following assays, and stocking the laboratory with essential items for experiments. Assist in cell culture, and perform related tasks as described.
Responsibilities- Mouse colony maintenance, genotyping and inventory updates. Collect issue samples from mice and perform molecular and histopathological experiments.
- Assist in cell culture, Western blot.
- Frozen sectioning; immunostaining.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, social sciences, natural sciences, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in a research or clinical setting.
- OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, social sciences, natural sciences, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' experience in a research or clinical area.
- Cell culture, mouse tissue collection, and molecular cell biology techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases or willingness to learn.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem solving and prioritization skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability and willingness to work with research animals.
- Ability to complete work, meet deadlines and work independently with only general supervision.
- Shift: Days;
Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required). - Salary: $17.88-$21.92 per hour.
- Pay Band: B5
- Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
