Job SummaryThe Public Health Data Analyst will support the School of Public Health (SPH) by performing statistical analysis, visualizing data, and managing data for research, evaluation, and grant‑funded projects, including work for a Centers for Disease Control grant. The role requires travel across Georgia to project sites.
Responsibilities- Statistical Analysis & Data Interpretation
:
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis using appropriate statistical methods and software to support research objectives and evaluation frameworks. Translate results into actionable insights for research teams, publications, and funding agencies. - Data Visualization & Reporting
:
Create clear, accessible dashboards and reports tailored to academic, clinical, and public health audiences. Communicate findings in written, oral, and graphical formats. - Data Management & Preparation
:
Design, implement, and maintain processes for collecting, cleaning, and integrating data from multiple sources. Document reproducible workflows to ensure datasets are accurate and compliant with research standards. - Training & Stakeholder Support
:
Coordinate and deliver training on data collection procedures and system use; provide ongoing support to partner organizations and project personnel. - Research Support & Scientific Output
:
Assist in literature reviews, IRB documentation, and the preparation of peer‑reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and grant applications. - Other Duties
:
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, clinical research, or a related field.
- Master's Degree and experience in community‑based participatory research, secondary data (e.g., NHANES, NHIS), or big‑data projects.
- Strong computing skills in SAS, MATLAB, Perl, C++, or similar.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in data management or analysis.
- Experience with implementation projects, Excel functions, and statistical software (SPSS, SAS).
- Proficiency in qualitative data collection and analysis, Qualtrics software, and EHR data management.
- Ability to assess and improve EHR data quality and extract population health data from EHRs.
- Experience with report writing, data organization, confidentiality, and security.
- Strong analytic, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Shift: Days, Monday through Friday (some outside normal business hours may be required). Pay Band: 12. Salary commensurate with qualifications within the established range. Position fully funded through external sources; continued employment contingent on funding availability. Recruitment Period: 5/20/26 Until Filled. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan), vacation time, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays.
Eligible full‑time employees may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program after 6 months of employment.
