Rutgers University-Camden, the Faculty of Arts & Sciences, Department of Biology invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate position. This is a one-year, fully funded position with renewal contingent on continuing grant funding.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated individual interested in mechanisms of plant developmental biology and plant stress tolerance. The successful candidate will use molecular, genetic, cellular, and biochemical approaches to study the molecular mechanism of how stomatal development is regulated by abiotic stresses. The candidate will participate in multiple research projects in the laboratory and is expected to independently conduct their own research project on basic cell biology and bioinformatics.
Responsibilities- Design and perform experiments using molecular, genetic, cellular and biochemical techniques to investigate stomatal development under stress conditions.
- Develop and lead an independent research project focused on basic cell biology and bioinformatics.
- Collaborate with laboratory members to advance ongoing research projects.
- Prepare and present scientific findings through manuscripts, conferences, and seminars.
- Ph.D. in plant biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
- Strong background in plant biology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry.
- Experience with basic cell biology and bioinformatics is highly desired.
- Preferred:
Ph.D. obtained within the last two years.

Minimum anticipated salary is $63,968. Final offer will consider candidate qualifications, experience, and available grant or departmental funds.
