Job Summary
The Research Associate will perform cell culture, real-time PCR, flow cytometry, western blotting, histological studies, gene silencing and over-expression in the laboratory. The position requires the ability to maintain mouse colonies by crossing tissue specific mice with various floxed mice to generate tissue‑specific knockout animals. Successful candidate will perform genotyping assays to distinguish each of the mouse lines, set up breeder cages to maintain lines or generate unique combinations of lines for experiments, and perform tamoxifen injections to induce the loss or gain of a gene's function in the mouse.
The Research Associate will be responsible for ordering lab supplies and working with grant administrators to track laboratory spending and maintaining lab supplies, purchases, and related records.

- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.
- OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience.
- Experience with mouse handling and performing molecular biology techniques.
- Knowledge of cell culture, westerns, databases and spreadsheets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness and ability to work with research animals.
Shift: Days;
Monday – Friday (work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Salary Minimum: $45,400 annually
Pay Band: B8
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum‑midpoint) of the position
