Job Summary
Applying for an Assistant Research Scientist at Augusta University’s Georgia Cancer Center. The role involves conducting independent research on human samples and mouse models for cancer signaling and drug development to advance precision medicine. Additional duties include general lab management, ensuring safety protocol updates, preparing scientific manuscripts and grant applications, and mentoring students and collaborators. This non-tenure track position is full time (1.0 FTE) for the fiscal year.
Responsibilities- Conduct independent scientific research, including planning, experimentation, performing data analyses, and interpreting results.
- Assist students with their research projects and provide mentoring.
- Prepare scientific manuscripts and grant applications, including data and figure preparation, and submission.
- Purchase laboratory materials, maintain inventory, and update safety protocols.
- Collaborate with principal investigators and other scientists in lab projects.
- PhD or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.
- Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds.
- Full-time (1.0 FTE) position for the fiscal year.
