Job SummaryParticipate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures; publish results in scientific journals. Perform a variety of complex chemical, biological, cytologic, microscopic, histologic, surgical, statistical/computational and dissection procedures. Will perform experiments using acute and chronic stress models, transgenic mouse models and high‑fat diet model, conducting behavioral tests evaluating depression, anxiety, PTSD, learning and memory.
Will help to maintain mouse breeding colonies and perform lab work such as western blotting, real‑time PCR, CHIP assay, immunostaining, genotyping, and other procedures as needed.
- Participate in project planning and development of research protocols while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principles and compliance with relevant federal guidelines.
- Perform complex biochemical, molecular, and histological techniques including transgenic mouse models, mouse surgery, western blotting, immunostaining, qRT‑PCR, CHIP assay, immunofluorescence, and confocal imaging.
- Collect and analyze research data, develop or use computer programs for data analysis when necessary.
- Compose author manuscripts for publication and review manuscripts prepared by others.
- Advise principal investigators, postdocs, students, and other research personnel on techniques and procedures; assist PI with supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.
- Perform behavioral testing and other experiments with stress/mouse models and manage the mouse breeding colony.
- Coordinate and summarize scientific literature and develop applications of new techniques.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or related natural/health sciences and at least two years of experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory, especially clinical trial research.
- OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least five years of research or clinical experience and prior supervisory experience.

- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization, analytical, multi‑tasking and prioritization skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift: Days;
Monday – Friday (may require outside normal business hours).
Pay Band: B9.
