Job SummaryPosition responsibilities include carrying out routine tasks and research experiments under the direction of the Principal Investigator and other senior lab personnel in the research laboratory to include maintenance of cell cultures, basic molecular biology, biochemical assays, tissue collection and genotyping, mouse breeding, project planning and developing research protocols and publications. This position will also be responsible for general maintenance of laboratory resources and equipment and performing all other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Assist the principal investigator or higher-level technician with research studies and experiments using biochemical, cell culture, and molecular assays.
- Assist in mouse breeding colonies, perform breeding, maintenance, maintain the database for animals, schedule all treatment protocols and treat animals.
- Participate in project planning and development of research protocols and publications.
- Assist with general lab procedures, maintenance, and cleaning.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, social sciences, natural sciences, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in a research or clinical setting.
- OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in the same fields and a minimum of three years' experience in a research or clinical area.
- Specific experience testing small animals in behavioral tasks.
- Previous experience in cell imaging using confocal microscopy and handling mice is strongly preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
- Willingness and ability to work with research animals.
- Shift: Days;
Monday to Friday. Work outside of the standard business hours may be required. - Pay Band: B5
- Salary: $17.88–$21.92 hourly, commensurate with qualifications within the established range.
