Job Summary: The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine at Augusta University seeks an Assistant Research Scientist to manage the Brain Organoid Core, oversee core‑led projects, provide technical expertise, and support investigators in stem cell and organoid research. The role includes culture and differentiation of human iPSCs, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, generation of novel iPSC lines, protocol development, and ensuring quality control and timely completion of research requests.
The position does not qualify for tenure track.
- Assist in grant writing and scientific manuscript preparation.
- Plan, design, and conduct research projects; analyze project data.
- Mentor and supervise postdoctoral fellows, research associates, and graduate students.
- Perform administrative and managerial tasks in the laboratory.
- Attend lab meetings and discuss research results.
- Maintain current knowledge of stem cell biology, organoid technologies, genome engineering, and neuroscience; implement emerging methodologies to enhance core capabilities.
Ph.D. or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Shift / Salary / BenefitsThe position requires full‑time commitment (1.0 FTE) on a fiscal year basis. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and is subject to funding availability.
