Research Assistant – Cellular Biology & Anatomy

Location: Augusta University, Augusta, GA

Perform various experiments and procedures related to vision research.

• Perform data conversion and analysis.
• Perform various cell biology experiments including imaging studies.
• Perform cell culture procedures.
• Assist with mouse experiments and mouse colony maintenance.
• Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or a related field plus experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting, particularly clinical trials research.
• OR Associate's degree plus a minimum of three years' experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting, particularly clinical trials research.

• Experience with general laboratory procedures and willingness to learn new techniques and procedures.
• Experience working with mice, including colony maintenance.

Knowledge

• Basic laboratory procedures and equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and other relevant software/databases.

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Abilities

• Maintain confidentiality.
• Work with research animals.
• Manage and schedule time to meet research project needs.

Shift: Days;
Monday – Friday (work outside of normal business hours may be required).

Salary: Minimum $17.88 per hour. Pay band B5 will be commensurate with qualifications.
