Research Assistant – Cellular Biology & Anatomy
Location: Augusta University, Augusta, GA
Job SummaryPerform various experiments and procedures related to vision research.
Responsibilities- Perform data conversion and analysis.
- Perform various cell biology experiments including imaging studies.
- Perform cell culture procedures.
- Assist with mouse experiments and mouse colony maintenance.
- Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or a related field plus experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting, particularly clinical trials research.
- OR Associate's degree plus a minimum of three years' experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting, particularly clinical trials research.
- Experience with general laboratory procedures and willingness to learn new techniques and procedures.
- Experience working with mice, including colony maintenance.
Knowledge
- Basic laboratory procedures and equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and other relevant software/databases.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Abilities
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Work with research animals.
- Manage and schedule time to meet research project needs.
Shift: Days;
Monday – Friday (work outside of normal business hours may be required).
Salary: Minimum $17.88 per hour. Pay band B5 will be commensurate with qualifications.
