We study the gut‑brain axis in the context of Alzheimer's disease and neuropsychiatric disease. As our research program is interdisciplinary and encourages applications from individuals with diverse academic or professional backgrounds, including, but not limited to cell and molecular biology, immunology, and neuroscience.
General responsibilities of our lab members:- Feed special diets, perform drug treatment and behavioral test to mice.
- Performs a standardized protocol to collect mouse specimens, including the brain and other peripheral organs, and prepares these samples for histological, pathological, molecular, and biochemical analyses.
- Cell culturing.
- Perform a variety of complex chemical, biological, cytologic, microscopic, histologic, surgical, statistical/computational and dissection procedures.
- Identifies and implements experimental and analytical pipeline improvements and refinements.
- Applicants with expertise in human disease modeling utilizing cutting‑edge cellular and organoid systems, including those developed from patient‑specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), are encouraged to apply; however, such expertise is not required.
- Prepares and submits papers on research.
- Develops hypotheses to be tested and ways of testing it.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
