Position Overview

Temporary Technical Paraprofessional position supporting field and laboratory research at the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory. The incumbent assists graduate students with ecotoxicological studies on amphibians and snakes, including trapping, mesocosm experiment setup, data collection and entry, and metal analysis of tissues.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with setup, running, and data collection for ecotoxicology experiments (50% of time).
  • Field work for trapping and collecting amphibians and reptiles (25% of time).
  • Additional lab work such as eDNA analysis (15% of time).
  • Data entry and management (10% of time).
Minimum Qualifications

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification:

  • Experience with field sampling and handling amphibians and reptiles.
  • Familiarity with data entry and basic lab techniques.
  • Willingness to work outdoors up to 8 hours a day in wet and/or hot conditions.
Physical Demands

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and work outdoors up to 8 hours a day. Requires attention to detail, willingness to handle amphibians and snakes, and ability to remain in wet or hot conditions.
