Bioinformatics Analyst

Performs work related to Bioinformatics analyses in the field of cardiovascular in Dr. Redouane Aherrahrou's Lab.

The duties include but are not limited to: BIOINFORMATICS ANALYSES:
Design and perform Bioinformatics analyses in the field of cardiovascular genomics, such as GWAS, molecular QTL, drug screening, biomarker identification, precision medicine, Single-cell RNA and ATACseq, and Single-cell CRISPR screening techniques. Maintains research database, communicates well with other laboratory members, and works well as part of a team. Collaborating with computational and wet-lab biologists for mechanism elucidation. Preparing written and oral presentations of results for the team and the public.

Maintaining and organizing large amounts of genetic data and summary statistics. WRITING:
Assist PI for writing publications and grant applications. SUPERVISE:
Supervise junior members in the lab. OTHER:
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: KNOWLEDGE Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. SKILLS Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills. ABILITIES Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the standard business hours may be required) Pay Band: B8 Salary: $45,400annually-$56,700/annually Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position This position is (fully/partially) funded through external sources.
